Align With Abigail
Assisted Stretching & Bodywork
One-on-one assisted stretching sessions focused on improving mobility, relieving tension, and supporting long-term well-being through intentional, hands-on care.
The Origin
Align With Abigail was born out of a desire to help people connect with their bodies again. With the rise of technology, most folks are walking around out of alignment with themselves, and thus with each other. I am interested in this work for what can be released and rediscovered through the body.
As a dance artist, I have been processing energy and information through the body my entire life. I have always found joy in partnered work, and the power of working together with people to achieve a common goal.
The one-on-one format with this kind of individualized work is of utmost importance. I believe the depth, precision, and growth that can be achieved through private sessions is powerful, compared to that of a general group or class format.
Align With Abigail stretch sessions are deeply intentional and specific to the needs of the individual on the table in front of me.
I enjoy connecting with people and bringing them back to the radical potential of what it can mean to have freedom in a body. Now more than ever, we must move slow. We must listen in to the intelligence of the body - all of its subtle cues. When we get quiet enough, we can detect what we need, as this is where power begins. For me, this work is a sort of revolution.

A little bit of my background…
Movement has been at the center of my life for as long as I can remember. As a professional dancer with over twenty-two years of training, I’ve developed a deep, embodied understanding of flexibility, control, and how the body organizes itself through movement. Stretching isn’t just something I teach—it’s something I continue to practice regularly in my own life.
My background in somatic work comes through Mat Pilates, Yoga, and the Franklin Method, all of which influence how I approach assisted stretching. As a certified Mat Pilates instructor, I’ve spent years studying alignment, breath, and functional movement patterns. That foundation helps me recognize compensation patterns in the body and guide clients toward more efficient and supported ways of moving.
The Franklin Method in particular shaped the way I think about movement from the inside out—combining imagery-based somatic techniques with biomechanics to support both physical release and long-term change in how the body is experienced.
Most recently, I worked as a Flexologist at StretchLab, where I spent a year and a half working hands-on with a wide range of clients. That experience sharpened my ability to adapt in real time, meet people where they are, and prioritize both safety and results in every session.
What I love about assisted stretching is that it sits right between science and intuition. It requires anatomical knowledge, but also presence, listening, and responsiveness. My goal is always to help people move with more ease, awareness, and trust in their own bodies!

WHAT IS ASSISTED STRETCHING?
Assisted stretching is a hands-on method for improving mobility and flexibility in which a trained practitioner guides your body through a series of targeted stretches while you remain relaxed on the table. Unlike stretching on your own, assisted stretching allows for greater precision through joint stabilization, improved alignment, and controlled movement through an individual’s available range of motion. Because the practitioner is doing the work, clients are able to fully relax and access the benefits of each stretch more effectively. Each session is tailored to the individual, using principles of anatomy and biomechanics to address movement restrictions, reduce muscular tension, and improve overall movement quality. Many clients also find the experience supports nervous system down-regulation and provides a sense of mental reset.

Yes, you can stretch on your own. In fact, I encourage you to do so - often!
However, if you’re here, I would venture to say that this approach has not provided the full results you are desiring.
The beauty of assisted stretching is that there is an accountability buddy, a cheerleader, an educated licensed professional that is working alongside you through the entirety of the process, tailoring each session to ensure you reach your goals and are moving through correct form.
Assisted stretching allows you to be passive, while the stretching professional eases your body into deeper ranges of motion that otherwise wouldn’t be accessible on your own.
